Third Eye Blind

Behind the scenes of Backline's live taping of Third Eye Blind -

Apparently this was the first time they got back together for a show in quite a few years!

Update. Upgrade.

Not much to update around Annie Hall Photo lately. I've been doing a couple headshots / senior portraits for students, but nothing else much too exciting that I am allowed to post (yet!). I started getting more serious gigs and decided that my D90 wasn't performing up to the standards my work needed, and I couldn't wait for the D800 to come out fast enough.

So! I pick up a used D700, which came with two extra batteries, for about $2100. I also got a battery grip and an infrared wireless remote for it. Cool things will be happening soon, I'm sure :) More posts will come soon!

Until then,
AH

What happens when you fall in love with a photographer?

I'm always looking to be a better writer, or at least be more creative with my words, though I've always described myself as one with few words. Today I found this and it was so beautifully written that I wanted to give it a try. I credit my inspiration to Molly.

What happens when you fall in love with a photographer?
Who knows, it's different all the time. They might buy doubles of everything, or three or four more. They might do the keys-phone-wallet tap ten times, or only feel hungry when it's 2AM. They'll spend the rest of their paycheck on new camera gear. Or eat ramen noodles for a month in order to save up for a new lens. Sometimes they stay in bed all day long, or never go to bed at all. Sometimes they'll stare at you for approval when they show you their pictures, or burst into tears when they find out you didn't like that one picture that was too distorted or too "blueish," or just not in your taste. They might refuse to drink milk or eat chicken, and they might take two hours to pick off every bit of cheese on their plate.

What happens when a photographer falls in love with you?
You become a supermodel, and the most beautiful person in the world. You see yourself in the way that they see you, and you find the words you once said to them pictorialized into images - immortalized into an expression that the rest of the world may see yet only you would understand. Part of you will always live within their style, their vision, and ultimately into each successive picture.

When you fall in love with a photographer, they make you want to be able to write well to match their thousand words. And when a photographer falls in love with you, you yourself become those thousand words.

A lovely place to visit, walk around, and take a few snaps. Shot with my new Nikon D700.
