Shefali and JP - San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts and Legion of Honor Engagement Session

This session included the lovely Shefali and JP against a gorgeous Palace of Fine Arts backdrop and also the Legion of Honor. Though it was cold and misting heavily, it was awesome. :) Enjoy!

Streets of San Francisco

Trying my hand at some good old black and white street photography. Images shot with the Fujifilm X100.

Fujifilm X100

I picked up a Fujifilm X100 recently and I have been having a blast shooting with it.  I'm going to Hong Kong in a few months and I wanted a quality camera I can bring with me without weighing me down or generating too much attention (wow, that's a big camera!).

It's definitely got the little annoyances that I was prepared for from reading reviews online, such as the autofocus, its power up speed, and generally the menu interface and such. I decided to get one because carrying around the D700 was troublesome, heavy, and got a lot of attention. I wanted something compact with the superior image quality I craved so much. My Canon S95 just didn't compare to the quality of my D700 nor the convenience of the camera I always have with me - the iPhone.

I love having the X100 around. It's extremely quiet, discreet, and compact and gorgeous enough to wear around my neck without feeling silly. The image quality is amazing, and I love the fixed focal length. Here are some shots I got with it around Henry Coe Park, Fremont Peak, and San Francisco.

The last days of summer...

Things have been a bit quiet around here because I just moved into my new apartment, was without internet for a while, and my final year of college has just started!

But anyway, here are a couple snaps from the last time I was up north. The light was beautiful and the scenery was amazing, and I even bumped into someone who recognized me from my photos on flickr! While I was up, I did a small video gig and met a few cool people and visited an amazing photo studio. I really like it up north. It might even be grounds for a potential post-grad spot, who knows.

Enjoy!

A Hazy San Francisco

Sometimes, I think San Francisco looks a little better out of focus. I went last week for a really short time to take a few snaps, but the fog and the weather was a little bit uncooperative, so I decided to put the haze to an extreme.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

I went to Monterey Bay Aquarium with my friend about a month ago, but I've been putting off editing these pictures until now. Enjoy! :)

My friend and I both use Nikon, so we swapped lenses constantly - the 50mm, 35mm, and the 10.5mm fisheye.

And of course, I love shooting people photographing things.

San Francisco For a Day

My friend Tyler and I visited San Francisco for a day. We brought with us a ton of equipment - D7000, D90, 70-200mm f/2.8, 35mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.8, 12-24 f/4, 10.5mm f/2.8, and a tripod, and we walked everywhere. It was so gorgeous... definitely have to go back and do more!
